Through guided, practical exercises, you’ll explore how pigments interact in watercolour, using traditional hand tools to blend and build entirely new hues. Both methodical and playful, the process will increase understanding of how colour mixing truly works.

You’ll begin by painting your own watercolour mixing chart, mapping out a spectrum of possibilities and identifying combinations that resonate with you. From there, you’ll use raw pigments to develop your chosen mixes into hand-mulled watercolour paint.
